Nonequilibrium Ornstein-Zernike relation for Brownian dynamics    [PDF]

We derive a dynamic Ornstein-Zernike equation for classical fluids with Brownian motion driven out of equilibrium. Inhomogeneous two-time correlation functions are obtained from functional differentiation of the one-body density and current with respect to the external force. In equilibrium, a mode-coupling-type equation follows, where memory functions are functional derivatives of a space- and time-nonlocal dissipation functional. We propose a dissipation functional that both generates mode-coupling theory and extends dynamical density functional theory, thus unifying the two approaches.
